Research Fees

If you are unable to visit our research library in person, our volunteers are available to conduct research for you at a rate of $20.00 per hour for non-members and $10.00 an hour for members. Please note item #2 below, your prepayment must accompany your request for research service. If you would like to become a member please see our CCHS MEMBERSHIP FORM on our website or contact us at (573) 635-1850 or at cchs@socket.net.

Please send your request in the mail, including the following items:

• 1) Self-addressed, stamped envelope with proper postage.

• 2) Required minimum payment of $20.00 for non-members and $10.00 for members, which will be applied to first hour of research. Additional research hours are $20.00 per hour. Fees for additional research hours and miscellaneous fees (such as $.50 per copy, long-distance phone call inquiries, additional postage, etc.) may be billed or requested in advance depending on total fees. To avoid long-distance phone call inquiry fees, please include an e-mail address with your request, in case we have any questions regarding your request.

• 3) Your contact information. Include your return address. Also, please include a phone number and e-mail address, in case we have any questions regarding your request.

• 4) Written request describing the type of information you are seeking. The request should be clearly written with a specific question. To expedite this process, please see our RESEARCH REQUEST FORM on our website, which can be printed and filled out to be mailed with your request.

Cole County Historical Society is non-profit and not tax supported. We rely on admissions, memberships, donations, and fees. All Research Library fees go toward support of the Research Library. Some descriptions of information and limited records from our library can be found on our website at www.colecohistsoc.org. We have several publications for sale, which are listed on our website. These publications can be mailed with an additional $5.00 postage and handling fee. If your request cannot be filled, your fees will be returned.

Image Production Fees

Image reproductions from our collections cannot be released until additional fees and completed forms are received by CCHS, as listed below:
 

Image Order Forms

Image reproduction requests cannot be filled until an IMAGE ORDER FORM is completed and received by CCHS. If you are unable to access an IMAGE ORDER FORM from our website or by requesting one via e-mail, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope so we can mail the form to you. Once you have completed the image order form, mail it to us along with the following items:

• 1) Self-addressed, stamped envelope with proper return postage. The envelope must be larger than the requested image size.

• 2) Required IMAGE REPRODUCTION FEES as listed below.

IMAGE REPRODUCTION FEES:

Image reproduction fees are requested in advance. They are in addition to RESEARCH FEES and are used to cover the cost of reproducing the image. Image reproduction may take up to 3 weeks, depending on when the process can be completed by our supplier. Please call or e-mail us regarding current expected return time.

B&W print:

8x10 = $25.00
5x7 = $20.00
4x6 = $15.00
3.5x5 = $10.00

 

Digital copy (standard resolution, price is per image):

Via CD = $15.00 Via E-mail = $10.00

Permission and Use Fees

Permission to publish, exhibit, or broadcast materials from the collections of CCHS cannot be granted until a PERMISSION & USE FORM is completed, signed, and returned to CCHS. Permission and use FEES also need to be received by CCHS. To acquire a PERMISSION & USE FORM, please download and print it from our website at www.colecohistsoc.org. If you are unable to acquire the form from our website, please email us at cchs@socket.net or submit a written request accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the form. Permission and use fees are in addition to all other charges. Permission and use fees are for one-time use only. Fees are per item, and they are as listed below:

Use fee in exhibits / audiovisual productions / decorative displays / websites / books or calendars with print runs of 5,000 or less:

Non-Profit use (must provide documentation of non-profit status): $20.00 For-profit use (resulting in personal or corporate gain): $50.00

Use fee in dust jackets or book covers / posters / flyers / brochures / advertisements / books or calendars with print runs over 5,000:

Non-profit use (must provide documentation of non-profit status): $50.00 For-profit use (resulting in personal or corporate gain): $100.00

Other uses not listed:

CCHS will negotiate fee. Please contact us for information regarding other uses.

 

Waivers:

Waivers for use fees may be considered if a certain use is judged to be of public relations use to CCHS and for student projects, curriculum use, or current news stories. Please contact us for more information regarding these uses. No use fees will be charged to the donor of the item. Even if a waiver of fees is granted, a PERMISSION & USE FORM must still be completed.
