February through November, the museum is open to the public for tours on Thursdays 12 pm - 2:30 pm, other days by appointment.

The Cole County Historical Society will be closed for walk-in tours from December 15 until February 1, though tours can be made by appointment through our office.

 

Private tours are available to school groups and delegations from clubs and conventions. Arrangements for groups of 15 or more can be made by calling the museum at (573) 635-1850.

OFFICE HOURS are Tuesday 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Closed Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

RESEARCH LIBRARY HOURS are Monday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Additional days by appointment.

Scope of the Collection: The Society's collections include paintings, pictures, records, documents, and other artifacts directly related to the history of Cole County, including its role as the seat of Missouri State government.

Special displays include inaugural gowns of Missouri's first ladies, Victorian home decor, and our Civil War Room.
